If taxes are paid through escrow, a refund is typically issued to the lender. That is how many counties return overpaid tax. The savings are still yours and usually appear as an escrow adjustment on a later statement.

Will a later reappraisal undo this year?

A later county-wide reappraisal is a new assessed value for a new tax year. It does not undo a reduction already granted for a prior year. Each cycle is billed only if new savings are confirmed.

How do I know my tax went down?
